Pastor Damian Pickett
Damian was born in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, on March 10, 1971. A few years later, his family moved to America. Unfortunately, Damian's parents divorced soon after, and he was raised by his mother, growing up in Tampa, Florida. At the age of 14, Damian had the privilege of going to a Christian camp, were he heard for the first time about a God that loved him so much that He died for him. That night, Damian prayed to received Christ as his Saviour and Lord. In August 1989, Damian began attending Clearwater Christian College. He graduated in May 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Bible. After which, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to teach at Gold Coast Christian School.
His wife, RuthAnn, was born in Miami, Florida, on April 4, 1967. She was born into a Christian family, spending much of her growing up years in Gainesville, Florida, attending University Baptist Church and Heritage Christian School. Her family relocated to Fort Lauderdale in December 1979. After graduating from Stranahan High School in 1985, Ruth Ann attended Broward Community College, the University of Florida and Florida Atlantic University, graduating from FAU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Teacher Education. Although, Ruth Ann grew up knowing the Gospel, and even saying a prayer as a child, she was not truly born again until adulthood. It was at a revival in Canton, Texas, in November 2002, that Ruth Ann realized her need to truly surrender to God, repent and receive salvation through Jesus Christ. Damian and Ruth Ann met at Calvary Baptist Church in 1994, while teaching at Gold Coast Christian School. They were married on July 29, 1995. They have three children: Dana, Damian Jr, and Dakota.
Since moving back to England in 2004, Damian started Kingsmead Baptist Church in Hednesford, Staffordshire and has since turned it over to one of the young men he has mentored. Damian became the new pastor at Ebenezer in November of 2011 and is excited about the great things God has in store.
